LEARNING COACH

Tyler has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge. He also has his Masters in Education from the Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has been a classroom teacher for 10 years in both rural and urban schools, with experience in the humanities and fine arts. He has taught every instructional level from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and has worked with post-secondary students and adult learners in support and instructional roles.

Tyler believes that there are opportunities for student success if one can be creative enough to find them. By utilizing a student centered approach, he thoroughly enjoys working with students to have them utilize their strengths and interests to produce unique work that reflects their authentic self; which is what can make education personal, exciting and dynamic! Whether students need someone to bounce ideas off of, or someone to help them scaffold their next major task, he is always open to meeting them where they are at and moving forward together.

When Tyler is out of the classroom he can be found spending time with his family, creating art, decompressing with video games, or cross stitching while netflix plays in the background.
