Sam Matychuk

LEARNING COACH & COORDINATOR

Sam (they/them) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in Equity & Education from Athabasca University. Their graduate research focused on equitable teaching and learning strategies rooted in diversity and intersectionality, reflecting and expanding their deep commitment to inclusive and student-centred education.

Since 2013, Sam has worked closely with individuals with disabilities, bringing care, advocacy, and practical support to their work. In 2018, Sam transitioned into post-secondary education, working across multiple institutions in British Columbia in Disability Services and as a manager in Student Services. Through these roles, Sam has developed extensive experience supporting students in navigating academic accommodations and accessing the supports they need to succeed.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys reading, knitting, powerlifting, running, and unwinding by snuggling with their two cats while watching baseball.
