Isaac has a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s University, a Master of Science in Engineering Mathematics from Dalhousie, and a Master of Science from the University of Guelph. He has also completed training in instructional design and adult education.
Isaac taught Mathematics to second-language learners in bridging programs at the United Arab Emirates University and Qatar University. A key component of these roles was working in a Tutorial Program and Independent Learning Centre. During this experience, he worked to incorporate peer learning and teaching within the classroom.
In Canada, Isaac taught trades, technology, and business students for several years at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. He worked with counselling and accessibility services to accommodate students appropriately in the classroom and leveraged alternative assessments to better capture student learning. More recently, Isaac worked as an instructional designer, educational developer, learning and development specialist, and open education advocate in higher education.
