LEARNING COACH & ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIST
Fernanda (she/her) holds a Master of Education in Open, Digital, and Distance Education from Athabasca University, with a focus on inclusive leadership. She also earned a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University, along with graduate certificates in Learning Disabilities Studies and Assistive Technology.
With more than 20 years of experience in education, Fernanda has worked across post-secondary education, adult learning, accessibility services, and inclusive teaching. As a Learning Coach and Assistive Technologist, she has supported students with diverse learning needs by helping them develop effective study strategies, strengthen executive functioning skills, and confidently use assistive technologies such as Read&Write, C-Pen Reader, speech-to-text, mind mapping software, and AI-powered learning tools. She is passionate about Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, and creating learning environments where every student can succeed. As a coach, Fernanda combines evidence-based learning strategies with a compassionate, student-centred approach. She believes that every learner has unique strengths and works alongside students to build confidence, foster independence, overcome barriers, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Outside of coaching, Fernanda teaches in post-secondary education, enjoys travelling, and gives back through volunteer work and community initiatives. She is committed to helping others discover their potential and experience success in education and beyond. A lifelong learner herself, Fernanda continually seeks opportunities for professional growth and believes that learning is a journey that enriches every stage of life.
