LEARNING COACH

Emily (she/her/hers) grew up in Temagami, Ontario, on n’Daki Menan, the homeland of the Teme-Augama Anishnabai and Temagami First Nation, before moving to British Columbia for school, which she now calls home.

Emily has over ten years of experience working with youth and young adults in leadership, educational, and mentoring roles. She has held positions across education, nonprofit, and outdoor organizations, including roles in program management, facilitation, coaching, and risk management. Her work has focused on supporting individuals through periods of growth, transition, and personal development.

In 2020, Emily founded Threshold Coaching, where she worked with youth and adults to build confidence, resilience, leadership capacity, and self-awareness through individualized coaching and reflective practice. Her coaching work later led her to join MyLearningCoach, where she continues to support students part-time while completing her legal studies at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law.

Prior to pursuing law, Emily completed the Adventure Guide Program and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Thompson Rivers University, and later earned a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Community Engagement from the University of Victoria. She is also a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. Outside of school and work, Emily enjoys trail running, dancing, pottery, and learning American Sign Language.
