Registered Psychologist
Barb is a Registered Psychologist with Henning McKenzie Consulting Ltd. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta where she completed a Master of Science in cognitive psychology and psychological assessment. She became a registered psychologist in 1983 and in 1991, Barb received her PhD in Counselling from the University of Alberta.
Barb has provided psychological assessment and/or counselling services in psychiatric, forensic, school, military and university settings. Previously, she was the Director of Student Counselling Services at the University of Alberta, the Director of Client Services at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton, a psychology consultant for Edmonton Public Schools and a psychologist for the Department of National Defence. She works with children and adults and specializes in the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, ADHD, addictions, depression and PTSD.
In her practice, she works with individuals to identify their strengths, together with their learning and emotional needs. Barb produces user-friendly assessment reports that identify specific learning issues and explore other areas of functioning such as attention skills, daily living skills, emotional well-being and social adjustment.
A fitness enthusiast, Barb also values time with her family, friends and her canine buddies.
