Deanna Fidelak

B.Ed, M.Ed

FOUNDER & COORDINATOR

Deanna (she/her) has a Bachelor of Secondary Education specializing in Special Education and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta. She also holds a Certificate in Teacher Leadership from Upper Iowa University. Deanna spent many years as an instructional leader supporting students within the K-12 education system as a teacher, inclusive education facilitator and school administrator. Deanna now works in the field of post-secondary accessibility and educational psychology.ย  She has experience as a tenured professional resource faculty member, academic strategist, university academic coordinator, and course instructor in inclusive education and educational psychology. She has extensive experience supporting teachers and faculty in creating accessible learning environments.

Deanna formed MyLearningCoach after witnessing the many barriers preventing post-secondary students from fully participating in their studies. In her coaching, Deanna focuses on student strengths and uses strategies, and resources to remove barriers to learning. Deanna is realistic with goal-setting and uses her own lived experience with a learning disability and ADHD to relate to students. Her long-term focus is on developing academic skills, organization, and self-awareness for students.
