BAHSc, M.Sc, PIPD, PhD

Learning Coach

Colin (he/him) holds a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College, a Master of Science specializing in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. He has also completed the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program at Vancouver Community College.

Colin is currently a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Okanagan College and serves as the principal investigator of the Return-to-Learn research team. This work focuses on creating and implementing a care pathway to support postsecondary students who sustain a brain injury while enrolled in classes.

Colin enjoys teaching in the college environment, particularly the opportunity to work in small class settings. These smaller learning environments allow him to work closely with individual students, tailor academic experiences to specific needs, and foster more inclusive classrooms. When students feel seen and heard, barriers to learning can be reduced.
