Here are five helpful study tips specifically designed to support post-secondary students with ADHD:

  1. Create a Study Schedule – Organize your study time by spacing out sessions and sticking to a consistent routine.
  2. Put Your Phone Away – Reduce distractions by setting your phone to ‘do not disturb’ and leaving it in another room.
  3. Listen to Your Notes – Give your eyes a break by reading your notes aloud, recording them, and listening to the recordings on repeat. You can also use text-to-speech software for digital notes.
  4. Get Creative with Colour – Make your learning more visual by using bright pens to create colourful mindmaps or highlighting key concepts.
  5. Try the Pomodoro Technique – Set a timer for 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break to manage time effectively.

These strategies can help manage distractions, enhance focus, and improve retention, making studying with ADHD more manageable and effective.
