LEARNING COACH

Joni (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education in Instructional Technology, and a PhD, all from the University of Alberta. She’s also a certified coach with training from Royal Roads University and a Professional Certified Coach designation from the International Coaching Federation. Over a career that has taken her from K–12 classrooms to senior leadership, she now works as a university professor, author, board member, and entrepreneur, because doing one thing at a time has never been her thing.

She is especially passionate about wellbeing in the midst of life’s busiest seasons and has created The Weekend Reset Challenge, an online tool offering a practical framework and a toolkit of micro-actions to help people find a sense of calm and connectedness amid busy days. As a certified forest therapy guide, she also draws on the quiet wisdom of the natural world, because sometimes slowing down makes things clear.

She approaches every coaching conversation with genuine curiosity and enjoys being a thinking partner to her clients. Recognizing that each person is unique, she draws on a wide range of strategies and approaches to help clients discover strategies tailored to them, fostering both confidence and clarity. Her coaching style has been described as tenacious, playful, and heartfelt.
